Kremlin sees Czech government's decision to freeze Russian properties as illegal
The Kremlin believes that the Czech government's decision to freeze the facilities belonging to the State Property Fund is illegal from the point of view of international law.
According to Russian presidential spokesman President Dmitry Peskov, the authorities are now studying the situation. He did not rule out retaliatory steps, writes Kommersant.
"Goszagransobranstvo [Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Enterprise for Property Management Abroad"] is the owner and operator of our property abroad, including in the Czech Republic, which objects this may concern, although judging by such, in our opinion, absolutely illegal from the point of view of international law decisions," - said Dmitry Peskov to the corresponding question Kommersant FM.
According to him, all objects of the Russian authorities were frozen, except those with diplomatic status.
“Here we need to analyze what the Czechs have here and so on,” he added.
The day before it became known, the FSUE Goszagranobstvo, which manages Russian real estate abroad, was included in the Czech sanctions list. The organization owns facilities in Prague and Karlovy Vary in the Czech Republic. The Czech authorities plan to seek the introduction of sanctions against “State Foreign Property” from the European Union.
