A high-level delegation from Kyrgyzstan, led by Nurlanbek Shakiev, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic, has arrived in Fuzuli district as part of an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The delegation was welcomed by Eldar Seyidov, alongside other key officials from the Special Representative Office of the President of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavand districts, Azertag reports.
The visit marks an important diplomatic engagement, highlighting the strengthening of inter-parliamentary relations between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan. During their stay, the delegation will assess the extent of the destruction in Fuzuli, a town that endured nearly three decades of Armenian occupation. This visit aims to provide the Kyrgyz officials with firsthand insights into the significant impact of the occupation and the subsequent efforts of the Azerbaijani government in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the area.
Eldar Seyidov briefed the delegation on the current status of redevelopment projects in Fuzuli, emphasizing the Azerbaijani state’s commitment to restoring the district to its former state and enhancing its infrastructure.
Accompanying Chairman Shakiev were Musa Guliyev, head of the working group on Azerbaijani-Kyrgyz inter-parliamentary relations, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Latif Gandilov, and other officials. The presence of these dignitaries underscores the collaborative efforts and the mutual interest in fostering a closer bilateral relationship.
