Kyrgyzstan, Qatar to ink 16 documents
Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov and Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will sign 16 documents.
The meeting between the sides started at the Kyrgyz state residence "Ala-Archa" on June 7, within the framework of the Qatar leader’s visit to the country, Caliber.Az reports via Kyrgyz media.
"Your state visit is of great historic importance," President Japarov said.
President Japarov said the Emir of Qatar was one of the first leaders of Arab countries to visit Kyrgyzstan, noting that “this is a big joy and pride.”
"Kyrgyzstan-Qatar relations are reaching a new level. Qatar as a state has achieved considerable heights. This year we are marking the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between our countries. We are marking this anniversary with Qatari friends. For 25 years our political relations have been developing and various events were held. Today we will sign a number of bilateral documents. These are positive achievements of the 10-year rule of the Emir of Qatar,” Japarov noted.
In turn, the emir thanked Japarov for the warm welcome and said he hopes for friendly relations between the countries.
Al Thani said that Qatar and Kyrgyzstan will try to organise state meetings and meetings between ministries to establish cooperation.
Speaking of Kyrgyz-Qatari relations in the economic sphere, the emir named such sectors as hydropower, tourism and infrastructure.
