Kyrgyzstan, Russia reinforce partnership in key political and economic talks
Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Japarov met with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk to discuss trade, economic collaboration, and cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, the press service of the Kyrgyz President announced.
During the meeting, President Japarov expressed satisfaction with the dynamic political engagement between Kyrgyzstan and Russia, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kyrgyz media outlets.
He also congratulated Overchuk on the successful completion of the latest session of the Kyrgyz-Russian Intergovernmental Commission, held recently in Bishkek.
Japarov highlighted that Kyrgyzstan and Russia continue to work closely within multilateral frameworks, including the Eurasian Economic Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organisation, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
Deputy Prime Minister Overchuk described Kyrgyzstan as a strategic partner and ally for Russia in Central Asia.
He stressed that bilateral cooperation is rooted in mutual respect, shared history, and trust, and encompasses multiple areas of engagement.
Overchuk also pointed to the growth in trade turnover and cargo transportation between the two countries, affirming Russia’s commitment to further strengthening the partnership.
