Lithuanian premier: War in Israel will not affect Western aid to Ukraine
Israel's war with Hamas militants will not lead to a decrease in aid to Ukraine from Western countries, Lithuanian Prime Minister Ingrida Shimonite said in an interview with DW, RBC-Ukraine reported.
The head of the Lithuanian government emphasised that it was critical for Ukraine to win the war started by Russia. Therefore, Western countries should continue to help Ukraine with the necessary weapons and financial means.
Shimonite expressed confidence that Ukraine would be able to count on further real support from its allies.
According to the prime minister, most countries now realise that the Russian invasion of Ukraine, as well as the military conflict between Israel and Hamas, are long-term problems. Therefore, it is necessary to focus on defence and security problems.
Shimonite also supported Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.
"Ukraine proves every day that it is fighting for the right to join the European Union and NATO," she added.
