Media: Azerbaijani army re-equipping with Turkish technologies

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces are starting to use advanced technologies developed by the Turkish software company Havelsan.

The project was announced after the International Aerospace and Technology Festival TEKNOFEST was held in Baku last week, US-based Defense Post reports.

Havelsan spokesman Mehmet Akif Nacar said the company has been doing business in Azerbaijan for two years already, supporting the modernization of the country's Armed Forces.

“At first, we worked on information systems, personnel and logistics software for the Azerbaijani army, which we expect to be completed in the near future,” Nacar told the Turkish state television channel TRT Haber, stressing that the technology firm had evaluated proposals to equip the Azerbaijani Armed Forces military simulators and other advanced systems and is considering the future supply of high-tech solutions for the military.

As part of the integration of Turkish technologies into the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, Havelsan also plans to equip Azerbaijani maritime with patrol ships with an ultra-modern combat control system.

It is reported that the system provides greater efficiency and effectiveness in the execution of tasks, facilitating the interaction of various naval platforms. The company also aims to develop another high-performance combat control system for Azerbaijani warships, which will support border patrol operations.

“We have completed negotiations and demonstrated the systems used in Türkiye. Now we are clarifying the details of the modernization of the border ships of Azerbaijan,” Nacar explained.
