Media: Ex-Ukrainian ambassador’s family linked to multi-million dollar Florida mansion
The husband of former Ukrainian ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova reportedly purchased luxury real estate in the state of Florida while she was still serving as head of Ukraine’s diplomatic mission in Washington.
According to RIA Novosti, citing public registries, the property was not included in the family declarations submitted to Ukraine’s National Agency on Corruption Prevention.
Journalists report that her husband, Danylo Volynets, owns around 75% of shares in Accordbank. The material also states that he founded a company, VRZ 2036 LLC, in July 2024 in Florida, officially registered for the purpose of property ownership.
Shortly after its creation, the company reportedly purchased a beachfront mansion in Florida valued at $2.35 million.
Under Ukrainian law, senior officials and their close relatives are required to declare foreign assets and real estate. However, the mansion is not reflected in the family’s latest declarations.
Markarova served as Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States from February 25, 2021, to August 27, 2025. From July 2023 to August 2025, she also concurrently served as ambassador to Antigua and Barbuda. In autumn last year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed her as his adviser on reconstruction and investment.
