Media: Turkish government to undergo key personnel changes by February
Personnel changes may occur in the Turkish government by the end of February, but they will not affect five key figures.
Five to six ministers may lose their positions upon the president's decision, Caliber.Az reports per Turkish newspaper.
However, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, and Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum will retain their posts.
The changes, part of the reforms within the Turkish ruling party following the March 2024 local elections, in which the opposition triumphed, will affect both the party leadership and the municipalities it governs.
The personnel updates are expected to be completed before the ruling party’s congress, scheduled for the end of February, according to the newspaper. The current Turkish cabinet of ministers was formed in June 2023 after the presidential and parliamentary elections held in May of the same year.

Interim Parliament Speaker Devlet Bahceli wished the vice president and Cabinet members success in their new positions.
Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz, Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc, Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Ozdemir Gektas, Labour and Social Protection Minister Vedat Ishikhan, Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change Minister Mehmet Ozhaseki, Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Energy and Natural Resources Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, Youth and Sports Minister Osman Ashkin Bak, Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Simsek, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin, Minister of National Defense Minister Yashar Güler, Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, Industry and Technology Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır, Agriculture and Forestry Minister Ibrahim Yumakli, Trade Omer Bolat Minister and Transport and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uralogu were sworn in at the presence of members of the 28th Parliament.
