Mercedes-Benz negotiating to sell property in Russia

The German automotive giant Mercedes-Benz is considering the possibility of selling the property of its Russian division Mercedes-Benz Rus to one of the dealers.

If the deal goes through, all the rights of the Russian division of Mercedes-Benz, as a distributor, will be transferred to a dealer, Kommersant reports citing internal sources.

The Mercedes-Benz plant in Russia is not included in the deal; to date, the production of cars has been suspended.

Among the applicants for the purchase of Russian assets of the German brand are such large dealerships as Avilon, Panavto, Avtodom, and Major. At the same time, Mercedes-Benz said that so far, no specific decisions on the sale of assets have been made.
