Microsoft spends huge money for users’ free video games
The Xbox company, owned by Microsoft, added more than 150 games worth $8,763, to the Game Pass service throughout 2023.
Game Pass is a subscription service that gives users access to numerous video games for a monthly fee. The list of available titles is dynamic: every month some projects are removed from the list, some, on the contrary, are added. Microsoft launched Game Pass on June 1, 2017, according to DTF.
Such projects as Hi-Fi Rush, Starfield, Forza Motorsport and more, among the games from Microsoft’s own studios released during the year, have been added to Game Pass. Among the projects of third-party developers, DTF highlighted Cocoon, Atomic Heart and Lies of P.
The cost of all versions added to Game Pass in 2023 was at a record level. For comparison: the amount was $7,100 in 2022 while $6,317 in 2021.
