Ministry: Remains found in Edilli belong to Azerbaijani servicemen
Azerbaijan's Health Ministry has confirmed that the remains recently found in Edilli village liberated from Armenia's decades-long occupation in 2020 belong to Azerbaijani servicemen.
The head of the medical forensics department of the ministry's forensic medical examination and pathological anatomy association, Nurana Huseynova, said that three mass grave sites had been discovered in Kojavand District's Edilli village, APA reports.
"Clothes and black leather shoes were found in the burial. Moreover, identity documents, two knives, cigarette butts, bullets, cartridges and shell casings were found. Belts with engraved star, sickle and hammer were also found," she said.
The head of the department noted that the remains, along with the decisions of the Military Prosecutor's Office, will be sent to the forensic department.
"More accurate expertise will be continued there," she said.
