Missile strikes leave 2,000 homeless across Israel
Missile attacks across central Israel and Haifa have left some 2,000 people homeless, at least temporarily, according to official figures released on June 17.
In one of the hardest-hit areas, Petah Tikva, a missile strike on a residential high-rise killed four people and forced approximately 400 families — about 1,300 residents — to evacuate, Caliber.Az reports via Israeli media.
In Tel Aviv, city officials reported that another 300 people lost access to their homes after missiles struck two areas, causing heavy damage.
In Bnei Brak, a missile hit a school located in a residential neighborhood, resulting in widespread destruction and one fatality. Authorities have relocated those affected to hotels, though the exact number of displaced residents was not disclosed.
In the northern city of Haifa, municipal officials confirmed that 60 people were evacuated after their homes sustained damage during missile attacks early on June 16.
Elsewhere, dozens more were forced to leave their homes in Ramat Gan, Bat Yam, Tamra, Rehovot, and other towns due to missile strikes that took place on June 14 and 15.
