More Armenians interested in learning Azerbaijani language
The Armenian Education, Science, Culture and Sports Ministry has conducted a survey on the readiness to teach a third foreign language and (or) set up a centre for learning any regional language at all schools of the country, taking into account institutional autonomy.
About 400 positive responses were received as a result of the survey, most of which were related to the desire to organise training in the Azerbaijani and Turkish languages, Armenian Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan said, Caliber.Az reports with reference to the Armenian media.
"A decision was made to teach the Azerbaijani and Turkish languages only for pupils in grades 10-12 as a result of professional discussions, but this also shows an awareness among schools and the public that knowledge of languages can become one of the ways to solve important issues," Andreasyan said.
