Moscow says Russia, Azerbaijan actively cooperate across all sectors
Russia and Azerbaijan are actively collaborating across various sectors, recognising the importance of not only enhancing bilateral relations but also addressing regional issues where both countries are involved.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova shared this perspective on the sidelines of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Moscow, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
"We see a strong desire from the collective West, particularly NATO, to stir trouble and then fish in troubled waters," Zakharova said.
"I believe Baku, with other countries in the region, is well aware of this. We must do everything we can to prevent the destabilisation that the West’s chaos-driven agenda has caused in other parts of the world from spreading to our shared region."
Zakharova emphasised that the region has already endured numerous conflicts, and allowing new chaos to emerge is unacceptable.
"We cannot permit the latest manipulators and schemers to implement their agenda of controlled chaos here," she added.
According to Zakharova, the peace in the South Caucasus must be defended at all costs.
Furthermore, Zakharova reiterated that while Russia welcomes those who genuinely seek to help establish peace in the region, Moscow will not tolerate destructive Western influence.
"This region has suffered greatly and has witnessed numerous conflicts," she said.
She stressed that Russia will welcome anyone who comes with peaceful intentions and offers support. "But for those hiding a knife behind their back – stay away. We have jointly invested considerable effort to protect peace in the region."
"We must do everything to prevent [the West] from deploying its strategy of controlled chaos," Zakharova added.
