NATO launches annual submarine warfare exercises in Mediterranean
NATO has begun its annual naval exercises Dynamic Manta-2026 in the central Mediterranean Sea, running from 23 February to 6 March. The drills, conducted in Italy’s territorial waters, are designed to enhance anti-submarine warfare capabilities.
The program includes tactical operations to detect and track submarines, coordination between air and surface forces, intelligence sharing, and joint planning for both deep-water and coastal operations, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Dynamic Manta is one of NATO’s key multinational exercises focused on submarine warfare. Separately, in March, the alliance is planning the Cold Response exercises in Norway, expected to involve around 25,000 troops, including approximately 4,000 U.S. soldiers.
