New mass grave of Armenian-killed Azerbaijanis discovered in Aghdam
The Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office has discovered a new mass grave of Azerbaijanis killed by Armenians in Aghdam during the first Karabakh war (1988-1994).
On July 24, 1993, several Azerbaijani citizens were killed by Armenian military units in Aghdam District’s Saricali. An investigation has been initiated on the application submitted to the district prosecutor's office about their burial in that area, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Prosecutor General’s Office.
On November 22, excavation work was carried out in conjunction with the investigation using specialized technical methods on the right and left sides of the Aghjabadi-Aghdam road going through Saricali village, the office said.
During the excavations, 15 bones assumed to belong to humans were found in the mentioned area, packed and taken away for examination.
The investigation is currently underway.
