Newspaper: Armenia's internal troops no longer to be sent to border
16 July 2022 15:29
After the 2018 revolution, the Armenian authorities made a political decision in July that police internal troops should be sent to the border. The previous authorities used them to solve internal political problems.
"After coming to power in 2018, Nikol Pashinyan said that everything would change, the police should not be a body protecting the authorities and solving internal political problems, but to serve the country and society. He even ostentatiously escorted the first group of officers," Caliber.Az reports citing the Yerevan-based Hraparak newspaper.
However, as we learned, the internal troops are no longer engaged in border security," the newspaper says.
