North Korea says it shares strategic alignment with Russia
North Korean Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui said that Pyongyang and Moscow are aligned on all major strategic issues, underscoring what she described as a growing allied relationship between the two countries.
Speaking in Pyongyang at a ceremony held at the Russian Embassy, where a memorial plaque was unveiled in honour of former Russian ambassador Alexander Matsegora, Choe highlighted the current state of bilateral ties.
“Today, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation share a common opinion on all strategic issues, which corresponds to the level of allied relations,” she said.
Choe added that relations between North Korea and Russia continue to expand on the basis of “trust and comradeship.”
“To ensure the comprehensive expansion and development of relations with the Russian Federation on the basis of comradeship and trust, tested by blood in the harsh trials of time — this is the unwavering political position of our republic,” she stated.
She also indicated that North Korea plans to further deepen cooperation with Russia in accordance with agreements reached by the two countries’ leadership.
