Official: Margara checkpoint on Armenian-Turkish border ready for operation
Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia Karen Tamazyan has said that the Margara checkpoint on the border with Türkiye is fully repaired and ready for operation.
"All infrastructures in terms of customs and technical means, passport control, border guards are ready for proper passenger service," Tamrazyan said at a press conference on January 12, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
To recall, in December 2021, Armenia and Türkiye announced their readiness to take clear steps to settle relations. To this end, both countries appointed special envoys.
On July 1, 2022, in Vienna, they reached an agreement on ensuring the possibility of crossing the Armenian-Turkish land border by citizens of third countries visiting Armenia and Türkiye respectively, and decided to start the necessary processes in this direction.
