US-Russia mail deliveries resume after months-long suspension
Postal operators in Russia and the United States have resumed the import of mail shipments to Russia, with deliveries now being routed through third countries.
According to a statement by Russian Post, Russian customers can once again receive mail and parcels originating from the United States through the national postal service, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
The resumption of imports took effect at the end of May, and the first batch of shipments has already arrived in Russia.
“Delivery is carried out via transit flights through third countries using existing logistics solutions,” the company said.
A source familiar with the logistics sector said that US-bound deliveries had previously relied on express carriers, whose collection networks across the United States were limited. The source noted that the restoration of postal imports will significantly expand coverage, enabling shipments to be accepted from across the entire United States.
