Official: US supports continuation of Azerbaijan-Armenia peace talks
US State Department spokesman Matthew Miller has said that the United States supports the continuation of dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
"We do obviously support continued dialogue around that issue. We believe it’s the best way to reach a sustainable end to the conflict, and we will continue to pursue it," Miller said at a briefing, Caliber.Az reports.
Negotiations on the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia are conducted through direct meetings.
In December 2023, US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien said that Secretary of State Antony Blinken hopes to receive Foreign Ministers Bayramov and Mirzoyan in Washington soon to hold talks on the peace agreement.
Later, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said that the place and date of the next meeting of the foreign ministers had not yet been agreed upon.
