Over 80% of Azerbaijanis negatively assess Russian peacekeepers’ activity POLL

Azerbaijani society negatively assesses the activity of Russian peacekeepers.

Proceeding from a public opinion poll conducted among people by the Social Research Centre from December 5 through 11, 2022, 81.8 per cent of respondents have a negative attitude towards Russian peacekeepers, according to APA.

Some 6.9 per cent of respondents expressed a positive attitude. Around 11.3 per cent of respondents failed to answer this question.

During the poll, the respondents also expressed their position by answering the question "what do you think about the duration of the Russian peacekeepers’ stay in Karabakh".

Proceeding from the results, there are different opinions on this issue. Thus, 49.0 per cent of the respondents think that the peacekeepers will leave Karabakh when the five-year term expires.

Moreover, 37.2 per cent of respondents answered indefinitely regarding the duration of the peacekeepers’ stay in Karabakh. Some 13.8 per cent of respondents failed to answer this question.

Around 390 respondents older 18 took part in the poll on a voluntary basis.

The phone interview polls covered 12 economic regions.

The selection was determined in accordance with the international methodology and in proportion to the population.

In case of a 95 percent accuracy interval for poll results, the margin of error is five per cent.
