Pakistan seeks to learn from Azerbaijan’s experience in women’s education
Pakistan has expressed interest in drawing on Azerbaijan’s experience in advancing women’s education, Caliber.Az reports, citing the State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs.
The issue was discussed during a meeting between the Chair of Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Affairs, Bahar Muradova, and Pakistan’s Minister for Education and Professional Training, Wajiha Qamar, held on the sidelines of the international conference “Harnessing Religious and Media Discourse and Its Impact on the Protection and Promotion of Women’s Rights in OIC Member States” in Cairo, Egypt.
Bahar Muradova underscored the crucial role of women’s education in enhancing socio-economic activity and provided a detailed overview of state programmes and educational projects implemented in Azerbaijan to encourage the participation of women and girls in education and to improve their knowledge and skills.
Wajiha Qamar highly praised Azerbaijan’s experience in this area and stated that Pakistan is keen to benefit from it.
She also noted that the development of vocational training programmes for women and girls contributes to greater social well-being and emphasised the importance of implementing joint initiatives in this field.
