Pashinyan calls for balanced relations between Armenia, its diaspora Amid strengthening ties with US
In an address to Armenian communities abroad, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized the importance of establishing clear boundaries in the relationship between Armenia and its diaspora.
He asserted that while the diaspora plays a vital role, it should not exert influence over Armenia's governance, nor should Armenia interfere in the affairs of its diaspora, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.
"This is a fundamentally important point," Pashinyan noted, advocating for a revision of previous frameworks to align with current realities.
As discussions around the role of the Diaspora unfold, Pashinyan also highlighted the significance of strengthening Armenia's international partnerships.
In a separate meeting with US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Joshua Huck, he underscored the dynamic nature of Armenian-American relations and expressed gratitude for Washington's support in implementing essential institutional reforms.
Pashinyan emphasized the need for targeted programs in Armenia, reiterating the mutual interest in fostering democratic advancements.
