Armenia signals readiness to foster economic cooperation with Azerbaijan, Türkiye
Armenia is actively preparing to reopen transport links with Azerbaijan, in line with the Washington Declaration signed on August 8, signaling a new phase of regional economic collaboration.
This was confirmed by Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, David Khudatyan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
Khudatyan emphasized that Armenia is not only keen but fully prepared to engage in economic cooperation with both Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
“With regard to economic cooperation between Türkiye, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, Armenia is ready and interested in it,” the minister stated.
He noted that Armenia is advancing efforts to implement the TRIPP initiative — the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” — and to facilitate the opening of transport communications with Azerbaijan as outlined in the trilateral declaration signed by the Armenian Prime Minister, Azerbaijani President, and US President.
Highlighting Armenia’s commitment to enhancing regional connectivity, Khudatyan also expressed readiness to reopen the Gyumri-Kars railway link between Armenia and Türkiye.
“We have publicly stated this and believe that reopening the railway will further strengthen regional connectivity,” he said.
