PM Pashinyan: Armenia now has boundless defence procurement options
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said the country’s arms procurement options have expanded significantly, no longer constrained by geography or availability.
He made the remarks at a security conference organised by pro-Western NGOs in Yerevan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
“Now our markets are, essentially, without limits. Of course, one cannot absolutise the term ‘without limits,’ especially regarding the range of weapons—we are not seeking every possible type of armament,” Pashinyan said.
He explained that the removal of these limitations is a result of the legitimacy of Armenia’s defence strategy.
“Any country, when discussing whether to engage in a military-technical dialogue with us, has no concern that the weapons could be used for illegitimate purposes, as classified internationally. And no one can question the Republic of Armenia’s right to defend its internationally recognised sovereign territory. It is simply indisputable,” Pashinyan added.
