PM Pashinyan's supporter: Church destroys Armenia's statehood
Arsen Torosyan, a member of the Armenian Parliament from the ruling Civil Contract party, considers the history of the Christian Church in the country a myth that should be destroyed to the ground.
He also accused the church of destroying Armenian statehood, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
"Our nation has been dealt a very difficult fate. In addition to having to destroy more than 100 years of myths and stereotypes in order to swim in this turbulent sea, in fact, it has yet to finally and completely destroy a 1,700-year-old myth, although it has partially succeeded in doing so by creating statehood," Torosyan wrote on social media.
Pashinyan's supporter believes that the Church wants to sacrifice Armenia's statehood for its internal and external group interests, and the people should give the final assessment of this structure.
"The Church's direct contribution to the destruction of Armenian statehood, repeatedly repeated throughout its 1700-year history, will be exhausted, the Republic of Armenia will not back down," said a representative of the ruling party.
