Poland proposes commercial support for Ukraine, not troops, says defence minister
Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak- Kamysz has suggested that his country and the United States may not send troops to Ukraine, but instead send their commercial enterprises and firms.
Minister Kosiniak- Kamysz emphasized the potential for joint ventures between Polish and American firms to support Ukraine’s reconstruction and defence efforts, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
Kosiniak- Kamysz pointed out that Poland has already been playing a crucial logistical role in the ongoing conflict, noting that "95 per cent of equipment, humanitarian aid, and armaments pass through the logistics hub in Poland."
He reaffirmed that Poland’s focus is on providing logistical support rather than direct military involvement.
The minister also proposed that the United States establish a hub on Polish soil to service its military equipment, further deepening the two countries’ defence cooperation. He praised the current US military presence in Poland, emphasizing the desire for American soldiers to "feel at home" while stationed there.
Earlier, Bloomberg columnist Marc Champion warned that the Baltic States and Poland could face significant disappointment following the talks between Russia and the United States.
