Poland to distribute safety guides to all households amid war, emergency threats
Poland’s Deputy Defence Minister, Cezary Tomczyk, has announced that every household in the country will receive a safety guide in the event of war or other emergencies.
Tomczyk revealed that the "Safety Manual" will be distributed in the form of a paper booklet and will address not only military threats but also a broader range of potential risks, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
The deputy minister highlighted a concerning lack of public knowledge about how to respond during emergencies. He expressed the view that Polish society has lost its ability to recognise the significance of certain warning signs, such as whether sirens are signalling an actual threat, a drill, or an anniversary event.
The initiative, first announced on December 17, 2024, will include separate versions of the guide for adults and children.
Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak explained at the time that the manuals would cover crucial information about military and nuclear threats, as well as practical advice on how to prepare for evacuation, the necessary items to pack, and the steps to take in various emergency scenarios.
