Polish president arrives in Türkiye for talks with Erdoğan
Polish President Karol Nawrocki has arrived in Ankara on an official visit at the invitation of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the Polish president’s office announced.
According to Marcin Przydacz, head of the Office of International Policy, the visit is an important step in preparations for the upcoming NATO summit, where alliance members are expected to discuss key security and defence issues, Caliber.Az reports.
The official programme begins on June 23 with a visit to the Mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, founder of the modern Turkish Republic, where Nawrocki and the Polish delegation will pay their respects.
Later, the Polish president is scheduled to tour the headquarters of Aselsan, one of Türkiye’s leading defence and technology companies specializing in advanced military systems.
The centerpiece of the visit will be Nawrocki’s meeting with President Erdoğan at the Presidential Complex in Ankara, following an official welcoming ceremony for the Polish delegation.
On June 24, the second day of the visit, Nawrocki is expected to travel to Incirlik Air Base in southern Türkiye, a strategic NATO facility. During the visit, he will meet members of the Polish military contingent stationed in the country.
