Political analyst: US not to defend Armenia during Trump’s presidency

Armenian political analyst Hayk Martirosyan has written that Donald Trump's presidency seems more realistic than ever.

“The US may enter a phase it has never been in its history in December 2024. However, no one talks about the consequences for Armenia. Biden’s administration, as well as US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, intensively defend Armenia, however, the US protection of Armenia will be reduced to zero during Trump’s presidency and political advisor Stephen Miller’s activity,” Caliber.Az reports citing Martirosyan’s message on Facebook.

“The US protection of Armenia will be neutralised, will disappear and will be stopped completely. Armenia will let everything go. This is a fate that the Armenian people have chosen for themselves. Of course, if Biden wins, then the existence of Armenia will continue a little longer. This will last until another neo-Republican Trumpist comes to power, which will happen in a few years. This will definitely happen. Trump has more chances for victory, and the scenario of destruction becomes more realistic for Armenia,” the political analyst wrote.

“Of course, it is obvious that the Armenian people will not initiate anything during these twelve months, as during the previous twelve months. Armenia will not stop its destructive regime, it will not appeal to the West, but will only create false illusions and calmly continue living: ‘Let's say well that was good, everything will be fine, let's be optimistic, we are the phoenix, we will rise, next year we will slaughter the lamb in Shusha, we will bring back Hadrut,’ repeating the national mantra for the millionth time. The nationalists will continue the mantra ‘We will oust Nikola, we will revive the republic, we will do this, we will do that" without being able to do anything until November-December 2024’.

That day will come. There is no way out. There is another way out. Leave the country. Leave the homeland. Exit from history. This is the way out that this nation has firmly chosen," writes Martirosyan.
