These state-of-the-art, lightweight, all-weather aircraft are designed for both day and night operations and represent a significant addition to Azerbaijan’s air force capabilities, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
The jets have already been integrated into the arsenal of Azerbaijan's Air Force.
Defence Minister Col-Gen Zakir Hasanov presented a report to Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
Minister Hasanov and Chairman of Pakistan Aviation Complex Vice Marshal Hakim Raza informed the Head of State about technical characteristics and rules of operation of the airplanes.
It was informed that JF-17C (Block-III) is a single-engine multi-purpose combat aircraft.
The aircraft can carry air-to-air and air-to-ground missiles, has high combat manoeuvrability at medium and low altitudes, and is notable for its effective firepower.
The JF-17C jets were developed through a joint venture between Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC), Kamra, and China's Chengdu Aircraft Industry Corporation. Known for their versatility, these fighter jets are capable of performing a wide range of roles, including ground attack, and reconnaissance missions.
The acquisition of these advanced jets underscores Azerbaijan's commitment to enhancing its military strength with cutting-edge technology. The JF-17C Block-III variant is particularly notable for its improved avionics, radar systems, and enhanced manoeuvrability, making it a formidable addition to the Azerbaijani Air Force.
This presentation highlights the strengthening of defence cooperation between Azerbaijan, Pakistan, and China, as the JF-17C jets are the result of long-standing military and technological collaboration.
