According to Azertag, the high level of relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was noted at the meeting.

Aliyev recalled with satisfaction on his previous meeting with Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih and expressed confidence that the meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be held successfully. President Ilham Aliyev noted the importance of the upcoming business forum between Azerbaijan and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to be held on December 19.

He further stressed, that the high level of relations between our countries in the political sphere creates a good basis for the development of bilateral relations, and noted the mutual interest of the parties in expanding cooperation in the field of business, including in the areas of investment and energy, from this point of view considered as a useful example of cooperation the project being implemented by “ACWA Power” of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to build a wind power plant in Azerbaijan. President Ilham Aliyev said our country has great potential for the development of alternative energy, especially wind energy.

The president of Azerbaijan highly appreciated the planned visit of the delegation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to our liberated lands of Zangila,  the interest shown in the reconstruction there and the desire of business circles of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to invest in our country.

Khalid bin Abdulaziz al-Falih expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for cooperation within the framework of OPEC+ and for support of Saudi Arabia in holding a number of international events. The guest noted that his country has always supported the just position of Azerbaijan in the issue of liberation of its territories from occupation.

Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih stressed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia continues to observe with great joy the large-scale reconstruction works carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan. Noting that Saudi Arabia is a reliable partner of Azerbaijan, the guest said: "We are very pleased and hope that your transition to a period of peace through reconstruction and recovery will be successful". The guest expressed hope that this will bring prosperity to the region.

Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih stressed the importance of celebrating 30 years of diplomatic relations between our countries.
The guest touched upon the significance of the European Union energy security projects implemented by Azerbaijan and the agreement signed in Romania on December 17 on the construction of an underwater electric cable.

During the meeting, the importance of further strengthening cooperation in the economic sphere was emphasized as well as the participation of companies from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in renewable energy generation projects in Azerbaijan. It was noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is interested in investing in new projects in this area as well as in agriculture and other sectors.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falihi, Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Co-Chairman of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia on December 18, as Azertag reports.

According to APA, the delegation is scheduled to travel to the liberated district of Zangilan in the course of their visit to Azerbaijan.
