President Aliyev marks Canada Day with strong message on bilateral relations

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev has extended Canada Day congratulations to the leadership and people of Canada, emphasising continued friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

In a letter addressed to Governor General Louise Arbour, Aliyev conveyed his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on behalf of himself and the people of Azerbaijan.

“I am confident that relations between Azerbaijan and Canada will continue to develop in the spirit of mutual respect, friendship, and cooperation, in accordance with the interests of our peoples,” the president noted.

The Azerbaijani leader also used the occasion to extend personal wishes for health and success to Canada’s leadership, along with prosperity and well-being for the Canadian people, underscoring the symbolic importance of the national day in reinforcing diplomatic goodwill.
