President: Iran must put Israel in its place
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that Iran has the potential to significantly undermine Israel's military capabilities and deliver an even more powerful blow than the attack on October 1.
"We must put Israel in its place. If Israel wants to undermine our security, we are also capable of undermining its security, and it will receive a much stronger response than before," Pezeshkian said at a government meeting, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
"The US will never be able to force us to concede our positions," the Iranian president added.
Meanwhile, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has called for the United Nations Security Council to respond by imposing sanctions in response of the ongoing military actions and bloodshed in Gaza and Lebanon. Araqchi made these remarks at the meeting with the heads of diplomatic missions in Tehran.
"The UN Security Council must take action against Israel for its ongoing pursuit of war and bloodshed in Gaza and Lebanon, and impose strict sanctions in accordance with Article 7 of the UN Charter," he stated.
The Iranian foreign minister emphasised that Israel's ongoing military adventures in the Middle East pose a threat to security not only in the region but also globally.
On October 26, Israel conducted direct strikes on Iran in a significant response to Tehran's ballistic missile attack earlier this month. According to an Israeli military source, the strikes targeted military installations but did not impact energy infrastructure.
The attack resulted in the deaths of four members of Iran’s military, prompting Tehran to assert its right to defend itself. However, Iran seemed to downplay the overall impact of the strikes, stating that the damage at military sites was minimal.
