Putin cancels visa regime between Russia, Georgia
Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree abolishing the visa regime with Georgia on May 10.
According to the decree, Georgian citizens will be able to come to Russia and leave the country without issuing visas starting from May 15. However, those citizens of the republic who come to the Russian Federation for a period of more than 90 days, for work or study, must obtain visas, Gazeta.ru reports.
In addition, Georgian employees of the Georgian Interests Section at the Swiss Embassy in the Russian Federation and their family members are granted single-entry visas for a period of three months. The presidential decree states that after the accreditation of such employees, they and their families can enter the Russian Federation and leave the country without issuing visas during the entire period of accreditation.
Putin also lifted the ban on flights of Russian airlines to Georgia.
