Putin, Xi hold talks in Beijing on sidelines of WWII anniversary events
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping have begun bilateral talks in Beijing during events marking the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
The discussions are expected to focus on Russian-Chinese relations as well as key issues on the international agenda, Caliber.Az reports per TASS.
This marks the sixth interaction between the two leaders this year. In January, Putin and Xi held a video conference, followed by a face-to-face meeting in Moscow in May, along with three additional phone conversations
Earlier in the day, the two leaders also took part in a trilateral summit with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khürelsükh.
Putin arrived in China on August 31 for a four-day visit. During his stay, he has attended the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin and held several bilateral meetings. On September 3, the Russian president is scheduled to attend a military parade commemorating the victory over militarist Japan.
