Rally participant: Our goal is to convey voice of South Azerbaijanis to world PHOTO

The purpose of the Berlin rally is to convey the protests of South Azerbaijanis to the world and the European political community, as in Brussels, participant of the rally, South Azerbaijani native, Sharifa Jafari said.

She said that one of the main demands of the rally is to cancel the ban on the use of the Azerbaijani language in Iran.

"Our rights are being violated, innocent people are being killed and arrested. Our Lake Urmia is drying up. We also work for our rights and justice,” she told Report.

Sharifa Jafari said that the rallies of the South Azerbaijanis will be continuous.

Currently, a protest action is being held in Berlin, Germany, in connection with the next anniversary of the May 22 (Khordad 1) events that occurred in Iran in 2006. Protesters gathered in Unter Der Linden Square holding various slogans and flags of Azerbaijan and South Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijanis, Turks and Qashqai Turks have joined the demonstration. South Azerbaijanis, who were expelled from Iran and settled in various countries, are especially active.

They chant the slogan "Freedom, Justice, National Government".
