Ramstein allies approve $38 billion aid package for Ukraine in 2026 photo
At the latest meeting in the Ramstein format, Ukraine’s international partners endorsed one of the largest assistance packages to date, allocating a total of $38 billion for 2026. The funding is designated primarily for drones, air defence systems and missiles for Patriot batteries.
According to a Telegram post by Ukraine’s Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, more than $6 billion of this amount will be directed to specific, clearly defined programs. This includes over $2.5 billion for Ukrainian-produced drones, more than $500 million for the PURL initiative, and $2 billion for strengthening air defence capabilities. Additional resources will support artillery supplies, military training, maritime capabilities and other defence priorities.

At the instruction of the president, Ukrainian officials also secured agreements with several European countries for the urgent delivery of missiles for Patriot systems. The exact number of missiles will be confirmed after final approvals by the respective governments, with deliveries expected to take place in the near term.

Key national commitments
United Kingdom: £3 billion in military assistance for 2026, including £500 million earmarked for air defence and £150 million for the PURL initiative.
Germany: At least €1 billion for drone procurement, along with funding for an air defence “shield” project and drone assault units as part of a broader €11.5 billion military aid budget.
Norway: $7 billion in 2026, including $1.4 billion for drones, $700 million for air defence systems, $200 million for artillery and $125 million for PURL.

Fedorov emphasised that, for the first time, Ukraine presented to its partners a comprehensive set of defence objectives for the year, developed in coordination with the president and the Armed Forces. He noted that the meeting resulted in concrete decisions to jointly implement these plans.
