Rescuers search rubble after Russian strikes kill civilians in Kherson, Odesa PHOTO
Russian forces carried out strikes on southern Ukraine, hitting the Kherson region and the city of Odesa, leaving several people dead and dozens injured, Ukrainian authorities said.
According to Ukraine’s State Emergency Service (SES), a strike on the Kherson region destroyed a private residential house, where rescuers recovered the body of a woman from beneath the rubble.
In Odesa, a separate attack struck a four-story residential building, killing two people and injuring 24 others. Emergency response teams remain on site, where search-and-rescue operations are ongoing.
Rescuers are continuing to clear debris and inspect damaged structures in an effort to locate any additional victims who may still be trapped under the ruins, the Emergency Service said.
