Rocket strike hits Damascus home, one wounded
On November 14, rockets hit a residential building in Damascus’ western Mazzeh 86 neighbourhood, wounding one woman and causing property damage, though the perpetrators remain unknown.
An Associated Press journalist at the scene said security forces had cordoned off the area, preventing access to the damaged building, Caliber.Az reports, citing Arab media.
State television and the Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) said the blast was caused by rockets fired from a mobile launcher, and that authorities are investigating the incident.
Explosions in Damascus have become less frequent in recent months, but they are not uncommon.
Since Bashar al-Assad’s government was toppled in December last year, the capital has seen several attacks. Israel has also conducted hundreds of airstrikes across Syria since the end of Assad’s 54-year family rule, mainly targeting military installations.
