Rocket strike in Russia's Belgorod damages power infrastructure
A rocket strike on the city of Belgorod, Russia, has reportedly damaged the “Luch” Combined Heat and Power Plant (CHP), disrupting heating supplies to residential areas.
The attack left twenty apartment buildings without heat after the facility was struck, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
While there has been no official confirmation of the damage, Belgorod Region Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov stated in his morning address that “energy facilities” had come under attack, noting that the full extent of the damage has yet to be assessed.
The Belgorod city administration also announced that emergency crews have commenced urgent repairs on a section of the heating network on Gorky Street near Kharkovskaya. The specific cause prompting the repairs was not disclosed.
“During the repair work, heating and hot water supply have been temporarily suspended for 17 apartment buildings and three social facilities,” the administration said in its statement.
The situation remains developing as authorities work to restore essential services.
