Russia destroys five Su-27 fighters at Ukraine's Myrhorod airfield VIDEO

The Russian Defence Ministry has announced the destruction of five Su-27 fighters at the Myrhorod airfield in Ukraine's Poltava region.  

The strike was carried out using the Iskander-M missile system and targeted the aircraft parking area, Caliber.Az reports per Russian Defence Ministry.

The missile strike resulted in the destruction of five active Su-27 multi-role fighters and the damage of two additional Su-27 fighters that were undergoing repairs.

This information was confirmed by a former speaker of the Ukrainian air force.

Footage released by the Russian Defence Ministry, taken from a drone, shows the moment of the strike on the aircraft parking lot, followed by columns of smoke rising from the targeted area.
