Russia detains man accused of Ukraine-linked railway sabotage in Tomsk
A man has been arrested in Russia’s Tomsk region on charges of treason over an alleged act of sabotage on the railway network, state media reported on April 30.
The individual has been charged under Article 275 of the Russian Criminal Code, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
Investigators allege the local resident, who reportedly expressed support for Ukraine and acted on instructions from foreign handlers, carried out a “sabotage and terrorist act” on the West Siberian Railway.
The Federal Security Service (FSB) identified and detained the suspect, who has since been placed in pre-trial detention.
Authorities said investigative measures are ongoing to gather evidence and determine whether others were involved or whether the suspect is linked to additional offences.
