Russia starts blocking media outlets linked to Wagner boss Prigozhin
Access to some Internet resources in Russia has been restricted due to the threat of dissemination of calls to participate in a military insurgency.
The announcement was made by the press service of the Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media (Roskomnadzor), RBC reports.
"Several resources are being restricted in order to stop the spread of calls to participate in a military insurgency," Roskomnadzor stated.
This is how Roskomnadzor responded to a question about the blocking of a group of Wagner PMCs on the Russian social network "VKontakte". When you follow a link, there is a message "The community has been blocked at the request of Roskomnadzor, as it got into the Register of banned resources" on the basis of the decision of the Prosecutor General's Office.
Groups of regional offices of PMCs in the social network are open, and the page of "Concord” press service, which is owned by the PMC chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, is not blocked either. Wagner's website does not open due to an "internal error".
There is also no access to some resources which, according to a 2017 RBC investigation, are linked to Prigozhin and “Concord”, such as “RIA FAN”, “Narodnye Novosti”, “Ekonomika Segodnya”, etc.
