Russian delegation visits Azerbaijan’s Zangilan district
The intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia visited the Zangilan district on April 16.
Participants of the 24th meeting first toured the village of Aghali, where they were informed of large-scale reconstruction and construction work carried out as part of the “smart village” project, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
On May 27, 2022, President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended the ceremony of the first phase of the “smart village” initiative in Zangilan.
The resettlement of residents to Aghali began on July 19 of the same year.
According to officials, all homes in the village have been connected to modern communication lines, a gas supply has been fully established, and each house is equipped with a combi heating system.
In addition, landscaping works have been completed, including the development of roads and sidewalks, as well as preparations for the operation of public buildings and infrastructure facilities.
The 24th session of the intergovernmental commission will be co-chaired by Deputy Prime Ministers Shahin Mustafayev and Alexey Overchuk.
Representatives of relevant ministries and agencies from both countries are expected to attend the meeting.
