Russian security chief alleges Ukrainian involvement in Moscow terrorist attack
The terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall near Moscow is believed to have been orchestrated by radical Islamists with assistance from Ukrainian special services, as stated by FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov during a meeting of the Russian Prosecutor-General's Office.
Bortnikov mentioned that while the mastermind behind the attack hasn't been identified, security services have identified the organizers and recruiters, with evidence suggesting Ukraine's involvement in training militants in the Middle East, Caliber.Az citing Russian media.
He emphasized that the list of suspects would expand beyond the 11 individuals already detained and arrested. Bortnikov asserted that the terrorist act served the interests of Western security services and Ukraine, aiming to destabilize Russia and instill panic in society.
Furthermore, he disclosed that the terrorists intended to flee to Ukraine, where they would be hailed as heroes, but Russian security services thwarted their plans. Bortnikov advocated for designating the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) as a terrorist organization.
Regarding the prior US warning about a potential terrorist threat, Bortnikov remarked that the information provided by the US was vague, prompting Russian security services to take proactive measures.
