Saakashvili: Moscow behind foreign agents bill

13 March 2023 18:52

Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili believes that the bill on foreign agents in Georgia was initiated by the order of Moscow.

He expressed this opinion in an interview with the French Le Figaro newspaper.

"I am 100 per cent sure that the initiative was ordered directly from Moscow, as part of Russia's hybrid war against the West... It is clear that all this was organised by PR people from the Kremlin," Saakashvili said.

In his opinion, if this law had been adopted, the EU and NATO would have been lost for Georgia.

Saakashvili praised the protesters in Georgia, noting that "the protest showed that Russia's hard power cannot suppress the will of the people".
