Serbian specialists to examine missile strike aftermath in UAE
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced plans to send Serbian military experts to the United Arab Emirates after the acute phase of the current conflict ends, in order to analyse the consequences of missile strikes and study the organisation of air defence systems.
According to the news agency Srbija Danas, Vučić said the initiative followed a conversation with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who invited Serbian specialists to observe the situation firsthand. “When all this is over, he told me: ‘Send your specialists so they can see everything.’ And I accepted this proposal. I want our people to see what it looks like when you are struck by cruise and ballistic missiles, how you organise defence, and what you use to intercept them,” Vučić said.
The Serbian leader stressed that Belgrade intends to use the experience gained from the visit to further strengthen its own air defence capabilities. “We will significantly reinforce our defence. Even now, we have weapons capable of seriously — not sporadically — intercepting such projectiles. We will build a multi-layered protection system, but we will also be ready to respond if anyone attacks us,” he stated.
Vučić also recalled that Serbia had previously faced massive strikes “from the air, from ships, and from the ground,” at a time when the country effectively lacked adequate protection. “Now the situation is different,” he added, noting that reinforcement units and additional equipment have already been deployed in Belgrade, Kragujevac, Niš, as well as in the northern parts of the country.
