Fourth Shusha Global Media Forum wraps up in Azerbaijan

The Fourth Shusha Global Media Forum has concluded after two days of discussions focused on the role of the media in promoting peace and strengthening public trust.

Held under the theme "The Mission of the Media in Promoting Peace: Restoring Truth and Rebuilding Trust," the forum brought together 160 representatives from 53 countries, including delegates from 30 news agencies, more than 60 media organisations, and 10 international organisations and institutions working in the media sector, APA reports.

On the opening day, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev attended the forum and answered questions from participants.

According to the organisers, the Shusha Global Media Forum has, over the past four years, brought together around 600 media representatives from 81 countries.

This year's programme included panel discussions on the media, artificial intelligence, combating disinformation, media diplomacy, urban development narratives, rebuilding trust, and other topical issues. The event concluded with final panel sessions and closing discussions.

The fourth Shusha Global Media Forum continued on July 14 with panel discussions attended by media professionals, experts and officials from around the world.

The day's programme opened with a video presentation outlining the forum's aims and significance, followed by a speech by Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Department at the Presidential Administration, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

The forum is being held under the theme, "The Mission of the Media in Promoting Peace: Restoring Truth and Rebuilding Trust."

According to the organisers, around 160 media representatives, experts and officials from 53 countries are participating in the event, which focuses on the role of the media in fostering peace, restoring trust and promoting accurate information.
